Description
Best Bitter by Cotswold Lakes Brew Co.
4.2% ABV
A proper session ale. Our Best Bitter has fruit and malty, biscuit flavours that linger with a nutty, dry finish. Combining traditional malts and hops, and a blend of locally-sourced, surplus fresh bread, this beer is the perfect all-rounder. Quintessentially British and gorgeous.
BEER STORY
Considered by some the national drink of England, Bitter remains one of the most popular beer styles. Originally brewed in the mid-nineteenth century, its popularity peaked in the 1950s as more discerning drinkers looked for an alternative to Mild.
We’d agree that the name doesn’t scream, “drink me!” but Bitters are not meant to be sour. Our favourite description is that they’re dry, like a white wine. Best bitter is a full bodied, dry beer.
But not all Bitter is created equal. There’s ordinary, best (or special) and extra special, too. We might be biased but ours ticks all the “Best” boxes in taste and profile.
