Things are pretty gloomy right now. Some of the most powerful people on the planet could be James Bond villains. The economy is tanking, and it sometimes felt like the sun was never going to shine again.
But, fear not, there's light on the horizon. There are reasons to be cheerful. Because the CLB taproom is back in business from 28 March for another season of good beer and good times. And we’re aiming to make it bigger and better than ever.
Our taproom has become the absolute hub of what we’re about – fun and community. Like any good host, we’ve reflected on what worked last year and what didn’t go quite as well, and we’ve got a cunning plan for 2025.
You can check out social media and the taproom events page on the website for details, but these are the headlines:
· We’ll be open Thursday and Friday evenings and for an all-day session on Saturdays.
· On Thursdays we’ll rotate between Terry’s quiz nights, comedy nights, laser clay shooting evenings and our off-grid gaming nights, when we’re encouraging everyone to forget the screens and get out the board games.
· Fridays will be the usual end of week chill out, with wood-fired pizzas on offer alongside CLB and guest beers, and locally produced wines and spirits.
· On Saturdays we’ll be welcoming guests from 9 til 9. You can come along for coffee and pastries/cake after your morning walk or pop in for a beer whenever you reckon the sun is over the yardarm. We’re not judging. In the evenings we’ll be joined by one of our roster of great local street food partners. What a way to spend the day.
