Happy Holidays!
Our Beer Shop is closing from 18th December 2024 to 2nd January 2025. Any orders placed in this time will not be dispatched until 2nd January 2025.

Merry Christmas!

Online orders will not be processed over the holiday period, as our beer elves are away from 19th Dec - 3rd Jan.

And the winner is...

We might not be announcing the new king (or queen) of “I’m a Celebrity” but this is far more exciting!

For those of you who follow us on socials (and if you don’t, then why not?) you’ll know that we’ve recently been doing some market research with our followers. But not to see whether Phil B is the Cotswolds’ answer to George Clooney (as he suggests), or whether Nick really needs another gilet in his wardrobe. As stuff goes, this was of the serious variety.

We’re keen to add a new brew to the CLB range and so we wanted to see if there was a preference for our latest recipes - either a Best Bitter or our take on a Belgian blond-style beer.

The power of social media is one thing, but despite the advances in modern technology, sampling beer over 5G remains beyond the current possibilities of Instagram and Facebook. So, we also shared some samples with our stockists and a few CLB confidants.

Far from being a slam dunk, the results were split down the middle. It didn’t quite go down to a best-of-three paper, rock, scissors contest, but it was close. After many a late-night debate, we’ve decided to go with the Best Bitter. There’s been something of a trend for Bitters to be rebranded as Amber, Copper or Ruby in recent years. But we’re sticking to the original, so everyone knows what they’re drinking.

A proper session ale, with fruit and malty biscuit flavours, we think this beer is the perfect all-rounder. As with all our brews, we’ll be replacing some of the grain with locally-sourced, surplus fresh bread. The magic happens in a couple of weeks’ time and you’ll be able to buy and try from the usual stockists from early March. We’re really excited about this one, quintessentially British and gorgeous.

PS, we’re not ditching the blond, so keep your eyes peeled as that may make an appearance sooner than you think!
